The transferred images on handkerchiefs mimic the idea of family storytelling passed down from generation to generation; the transfer of story, just as the images, fade and blur through the process.
Mounted drawers jutting out at various depths line the walls of this installation. Each drawer is filled with additional transferred images and items that represent memories of family stories.
A double exposed video of home movies is projected onto a white sheet that hangs on the clothing line among the other transferred images. The video reinforces the idea that our family stories fade and shift over the course of time causing overlapping of family members and events within our memories.
The stitching on the doily and gloves that peek out of a semi-closed drawer reads, "Carefully woven with her tongue."
This drawer is partially closed and less accessible by being placed higher on the installation wall. The notion of inaccessibility relates to family stories, in that some stories are readily told, while others are tucked away and only taken out and shared with a deserving person.
From this angle of the installation, there are various images hanging on the clothesline and out of the mounted drawer.
