Artist Statement
My work consists of a series of images, recipes, stories and installations that evoke the small nuances found in once lost family interactions: like the tone of voice or the tilt of head, which seem to fade out of our memory with every swipe of the second hand. In this fast-paced world, I attempt to learn from those before me and gain what knowledge I can from time-honored practices. With every loss, I sense that it is my task to preserve the stories and memories attached, while also keeping alive traditions.
